Mary's Church

Gift Day 2016
Saturday 1st October is Gift Day. As you will appreciate, St Mary's is a very old church, it is expensive to maintain and relies heavily on Gift Day to help with this.
The church is not only used for religious services, including baptisms, marriages, and funerals, but by various groups, keep fit, parents and toddlers, concerts, recitals, lectures and of course the Petworth Festival for its summer and Literary Festivals.
It will come as little surprise if I say that expenses continue to rise sharply, but our income continues to decline. So shortly we will be launching a Stewardship Campaign, timed to coincide with Gift Day.
Envelopes for donations will be sent out nearer the time and there will be someone in church from 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. on the 1st to receive them. Any donation, large or small, will be gratefully received by the Treasurer!
